Sapphire is defined by its sweeping curves and refined palette. An elegant, sculpted form that feels naturally at home within the Kingston Foreshore landscape. Rather than drawing from the literal qualities of its namesake gem, Swell embraced the organic architectural language, informed by the water’s edge, shifting light, and surrounding natural environment. Guided by this architectural intent, the signage strategy establishes a clear visual language that echoes the building’s form and materiality.
Every element is considered, from the subtle curvature expressed in sign profiles to the sophisticated colour palette that harmonises the exterior finishes. Through a close alignment with the building itself, Sapphire’s wayfinding system elevates everyday navigation into an experience that reflects the beauty, craftsmanship, and sophistication of this landmark Foreshore development. The result is a holistic system where signage feels embedded in the architecture, rather than applied to it.
Inspired by the rhythm of the façade and the fluid movement of the lake, the signage forms draw on gentle arcs and softened edges. Textures, forms and tones subtly reference the shoreline throughout.
Sapphire’s wayfinding system has been designed to operate as a coherent, seamless experience from arrival through to the basement, amenities, corridors and beyond. This consistency ensures every part of the journey is intuitive, and visually aligned with the architecture.
