The Eurobodalla region, located on the South Coast of New South Wales, is defined by its pristine coastline, fertile hinterland, and a deep connection to nature and community. Partnering with Eurobodalla Shire Council and DS, Swell was engaged to develop a cohesive destination brand that could unify the region’s diverse towns and experiences, while elevating its appeal beyond a traditional coastal getaway. The ambition was to reposition Eurobodalla as a place not just to visit, but to feel, where wellbeing, simplicity and joy are intrinsically linked to the natural environment.

Through a series of workshops and consultations with Council, local businesses, tourism operators and community stakeholders, a clear strategic framework emerged. Insights revealed a growing desire among audiences for meaningful, restorative travel, with experiences that nourish both body and mind. This informed a brand positioning centred on transformation through nature, underpinned by the idea that Eurobodalla offers “all kinds of natural to nourish happiness.” This became the foundation for a distinct and ownable brand essence, shifting the narrative from passive relaxation to active, sensory engagement.

The resulting identity brings this strategy to life through a warm, human and optimistic expression. The logo wordmark is crafted with subtle interplay between characters, creating a sense of embrace and nourishment, reflecting the region’s deep care for its visitors, community and environment. A refined typographic approach elevates the brand into the wellness space, while a soft, nostalgic colour palette and playful illustrations evoke joy, simplicity and emotional connection. The visual language is expressive yet grounded, balancing elegance with approachability. Supported by a comprehensive brand toolkit and guidelines, the identity ensures consistency across all touchpoints. The outcome is a cohesive and contemporary destination brand that captures the essence of Eurobodalla, inviting visitors to reconnect, recharge and ultimately, nourish happiness.
