A&A

Alexander & Albemarle

A&A is the preservation and reinvention of two adjoining office towers, Alexander & Albemarle. With an eye to the environmental benefits of repurposing much of the existing structure, the imposing towers were transformed by Doma Group into textural warehouse and loft-style apartments, along with diverse non-residential uses activating the grounds of the site.

Built in the mid-1960s by the Commonwealth, a complete renovation in collaboration with COX meant a new brand identity was required to launch the project and communicate the rebirth. Our response is a brutalist and industrial design system directly inspired by the buildings. The visual language of the marketing campaign employed strong typography and brought a modern, innovative edge to the project while still paying homage to its heritage
